Robert R. Warchola, a partner with Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, will discuss the genesis of cryptocurrency (Bitcoin), how it works, the future of the blockchain and recent case law addressing issues involving cryptocurrency.
Bob has extensive jury and non-jury trial experience representing various individuals and entities in commercial disputes including athletes, physicians, public companies, sureties, and governmental agencies. He also represents individuals and entities in the healthcare field. Bob has been representing physicians since 1997 and continues to represent physicians and physician practice groups on a variety of issues. He has also been representing contractors, sureties, and governmental agencies in construction matters since 1992.
Bob’s commercial practice includes representing a public company, numerous individuals and entities in real estate transactions, and advising clients on general business matters. He was a speaker for the ABA Audio Webinar “Cryptocurrency-Losses and Coverage” and also spoke at the Northeast Surety and Fidelity Conference on Cryptocurrency. Bob has a B.A. from The George Washington University and his J.D. from Stetson University.
